Challenge

How to ensure that a franchise’s brand, policies and regulations are met by all franchisee centers and that general content is centrally administered by the franchise, while specific content is still managed by each franchisee?

Solution

The context of an international franchise were each of several hundred independently-owned centers (franchisees) must still have the flexibility to manage their own content while still guaranteeing an overall brand consistency and policy enforcement, poses major challenges to the content management platform.

This is the case of a US-based franchise with more than two hundred franchisees around the world, that needs to ensure not only brand consistency through all the licensed centers, but also to have a comprehensive and easy way for administering in a centralized fashion all of its publishable content policies and general content, but at the same time, being able to give each independent center the chance to govern their own specific content. It is a case in which the solution must be both, structured and flexible.

One of the keys in this project was the use of Multi-Site Manager, that allows to easilly manage multiple web sites that share common content, defining relations between the sites so that content changes in one site are automatically replicated in other sites.
